Pilot Drivers Education Program
AN EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT SOMETHING NEW!
The Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind Will be offering an Innovative Pilot Program Slated for Summer, 2008
ISDB has fielded numerous inquiries from school districts and driver education instructors across the state related to how to best meet the communication and instructional needs of students who are hearing impaired or have low vision. Concern has been raised for both the classroom setting and the in-car training required to satisfy the Idaho Driver Education Program.
In response to these inquiries, a distinctive combination program will be offered this summer. ISDB plans to offer a summer camp combining an Idaho Driver Education Program and ISDB’s Independent Living Skills Program. This camp will be conducted in 2 ten-day sessions. Students enrolled in Driver Education will need to complete both ten-day sessions for a total of 20 days.
The sessions will be offered at the beautiful ISDB campus in Gooding. The school is located on a grassy, tree-lined campus with comfortable modern, home-like cottage residences. Each day will be dedicated to driver education training and independent life skills in a supervised educational setting.
Persons interested in receiving registration forms should respond to:
