Boys Soccor 

My name is Roger Johnson and I coach high school soccer for ISDB. Our team consists of players from all three schools in Gooding: ISDB, GHS and the Gooding Alternative School.  I had the distinct pleasure of having a winning season last year and about half and half this year. 

The best part of being involved with these high school kids is the reward we receive when we can take all three schools and make one team.  We have communication problems on the field. We are provided an interperter from ISDB that can do everything as long as we are in a group setting; but when the matches begin, the kids have to be able to play with anyone.  By the end of the year, the friendships that have been made between the deaf and hearing kids is wonderful.  I really hope that people can see how important this program is just because it brings several cultures together into one team.  Thank you for your time and I hope to see you at the soccor field.
